FAQ

Isn’t Staging just decorating?

Staging is NOT decorating.  Decorating is personalizing and Staging is depersonalizing and preparing a house for the unknown buyer.  Staging uses a proven professional set of guidelines which convey a depersonalized, de-cluttered and well cared for home.  Potential Buyers will see a series of great impressions throughout the home, motivating them to linger and mentally move into the house.  Staging is not about possessions, but about showing off space. That is why it is important to hire someone specifically trained to prepare a house for sale.

Does Staging cost a lot?

Staging is an INVESTMENT in getting a house sold and the investment in Staging is always less than a price reduction.  An Accredited Staging Professional® has been trained to work with a Seller’s budget and time frame to properly Stage a house.  Therefore, I must ask you, “Can you afford NOT to Stage?” When compared with the other costs associated with the sale or purchase of a home, Staging is very reasonable.

Don’t all I need are lights, flowers & music when I show my house?

Lights, flowers and music are great for showing a house, but that is not Staging.  Staging requires an objective and professional assessment of a house’s strengths and challenge areas, and solutions to help buyers fall in love with what they see.  This requires more than just flowers and music to achieve – it requires an Action Plan.  First Impressions Home Staging can help you with a success plan for getting your house Staged and SOLD!

Can I just watch one of those shows?

The shows on HGTV and similar channels give sellers the idea they need to do something to their house to prepare it for sale, but sellers cannot truly be objective in a house they have been living in and need a 3rd party independent opinion to get it properly Staged.  An Accredited Staging Professional®, like Lori Ryan, has the experience to help sellers get their houses ready for resale. She honors her clients, and works closely with Realtors to help get a house sold.

Why Stage Your Home

Thirty seconds is all it takes for a potential buyer to decide if they will put an offer on your home.  Your house is probably your largest asset and selling is one of your most important decisions.  Just like other commodities for sale, your home must be seen in order for it to sell.  To sell quickly, it needs to stand out from similar products in the marketplace.  Staging your home will help you reach the full potential and value of your property.

First Impressions Matter…

First Impressions

Curb Appeal Begins on the Internet

The National Association of Realtors estimates 90% of people begin looking for their next home on the internet. This is where first impressions are made. Staging your home prior to taking pictures for the internet will help create interest in your home with potential buyers and real estate agents. If you don't have appealing photos on the MLS (Multiple Listing Service), your home may be dismissed with the click of the mouse.
